The Centre for Police Studies has been profoundly professonalised over the last few years. This professionalization was an excellent opportunity to support the Centre with a Board of Advisors. This Board is composed of eminent persons from various sectors in society. The composition of this Board reflects the large and broad position that Centre takes in the society.
The Board of Advisors is an independant institute that advises and supports the Board of Directors in making strategious decisions regarding the thematic choices and functioning of the association, more particularly in view of the fields of interest to be developed in the future. In this regard, it is important to stress that the Centre wants to position itself explicitely as a binding between society and police, and therefore is less interested in sole police matters. The Board of Advisors advises the Administrators about strategical matters and the headlines of the strategical policy. The Board of Advisors also serves as a sounding board for the Board of Administrators.
The Board of Advisors is presided by Mr Herman Balthazar, Honorary Governor of the Province of East-Flanders.
