CPS 1989-2009: 20 years of co-operation between police and science!

On May 14th 2009, the CPS celebrated its 20th birthday in the Belgium Pier in Blankenberge at the Belgian coast. The celebration took place on the evening of the first day of the international conference ‘Restorative Policing’ , in cooperation with the Dutch Society, Security and Police Foundation (SMVP).

Touristic trains, sponsored by the city of Blankenberge, brought the conference attendants from the conference to the Belgium Pier.  After the welcome cocktail, the Director of the SMVP treated the participants with a great birthday speech. Also the chairman of the CPS gave a speech in which he gave an overview of the last 20 years of CPS, and a glimpse of the future. The kick-off of the party was celebrated with a great birthday cake. Afterwards, there was a dance party with live band "Spellbaund". At the end of the celebration, the guests were brought back to the conference area.
